What if I have more than one dog?
The Solutions Session pricing is the same whether you have one dog or multiple dogs. You are allowed to bring more than one dog into our location in Salisbury simultaneously for an evaluation. Class pricing is the same regardless if you have one, two, or three dogs. Doggy Boot Camp pricing is typically discounted for the second dog to join our program during the same dates as the first dog.
-
What is your pricing?
Every dog and owner is different and comes to us with a unique situation. It is important we have an initial consultation during a Solution Session before we are able to provide specific pricing for you and your dog.
-
What can I expect my dog to be like after training?
You should expect significant improvement in your dog’s behavior if you attend all of your sessions and implement the training program as advised. Scott will be able to give you more individualized expectations during your first meeting together.
-
How long have you been doing this?
Beyond The Leash has been in operation since 2005. It started off as a Los Angeles-based company. We moved here in 2009 and opened our New England location.
-
What are the advantages of Doggy Boot Camp?
Our board and train program is a nice option for owners who do not have a lot of time to dedicate to training. It also is convenient for owners who have a vacation planned and would need to board their dog somewhere in any case.
-
Why should I choose Beyond The Leash?
We have an area on our website specifically dedicated just to this topic. Please check out What Sets Us Above the Rest.
-
What if I have already been to multiple trainers?
Often times our clients have seen two or more different trainers before signing up with Beyond The Leash. We strive to offer training that you and your dog will be able to replicate in the real world, which is why many dogs that have “failed” in earlier training programs are able to have success with us.
-
What if my dog has already been through a board and train program?
Some of our clients have done a board and train program elsewhere before signing up for Doggy Boot Camp at Beyond The Leash. These owners have found additional benefits from our program, and we work every day to strengthen the dog’s confidence while he is with us. And once the dog returns home, our primary focus is to educate the owner during the follow up classes.
-
My dog went to puppy school, why does he need more training?
Puppy school is typically a 5-6 week course that provides some basic foundational tools for training. This training is not meant to extend into adulthood. Most dogs need consistent training for the first year of their life as well as some maintenance training after that.
-
Do you have dogs personally?
Yes! Why else be a dog trainer? My wife and I share our home with Border Collies, a Belgian Malinois, and a Pomeranian.
-
Are some dogs just not able to be trained?
Outside of dogs that receive little to no socialization in their first few months of life that may be considered almost feral, we have found that all dogs can be trained. Different dogs have different levels of intelligence, will, and desire to work for an owner but that does not make a dog unable to be trained.
-
Why is this dog SO much more difficult than my last dog?
Sometimes if we get a puppy it’s easy to forget how difficult a puppy 15 plus years ago was. Even if your new dog seems like a polar opposite from your previous dog, introducing a structured training program is always helpful.
-
Is my dog too old for training?
While younger dogs can be easier to mold, old dogs are certainly capable of learning also. As long as your dog does not have any life threatening health issues because of his or her age, we will consider a dog of any age a candidate for our Doggy Boot Camp.
-
Should the entire family attend classes?
You are welcome to have as many family members present as you’d like. However, children under 5 must be watched by another family member in order to be able to progress during sessions. Ideally, one or two adult family members attend the first few session and then the family dynamic can be more smoothly introduced later on.
-
What vaccines do you require for training and/or Doggy Boot Camp?
The only vaccine we require for boarding and training is a current rabies vaccine. If your dog is admitted to our Doggy Boot Camp program, we will need a copy of his or her rabies certificate on drop off.
